As I have stated before, I am no longer the avid FFXIV player I once was. It just got to a point where the developers seemed to be rehashing old content for each update, and the updates got further and further apart.
I belong to a FFXIV Facebook group, and there are a many people who share the same sentiment I do.
The past few updates have given the game new armor which was just recolored old armor.
Yay I guess.
But recently, there's been a bit of a stir among the collective adventurers of Eorzea.
Something called Eureka has appeared, and people have been shouting both praise and distaste. Why? I have no idea.
I have very vague knowledge of what this new Eureka place is like, so I had to do research. And you know what?
It's FFXI. They rehashed FFXI.
You think this would be a good thing based on my fond memories and the memories of many others, but probably not with the vitrolic community FFXIV has right now.
So what exactly is Eureka? The blanket statement to describe Eureka would be an exp instance such as Palace of the Dead. You start at level one and join alliances to kill monsters for exp.
Elemental resistances and weaknesses much like FFXI have been implemented, so people will have to think for themselves and not be retards. But, I doubt that will happen.
They also added good 'ol NMs. Which as it turns out, is a bad idea for an instanced area.
Having messed around with the Diadem, I learned first hand that people are lazy pricks that only want the easy exp. They would jump in and see if the raid FATE was up, and if it wasn't, they would leave and try again in a bit.
Turns out, that sort of laziness is happening in Eureka. People are entering, shouting for some sort of NM, and leaving if it's not up.
They didn't even add good NMs! Old Goobbue? Give me a freakin' break. If I'm going to listen to people shout if an NM is up or not, it better be Leaping Lizzy.
Although Scorpion Harness has made a comeback, I am not sure how I feel about it.
Also, leveling down has returned. Stupid people are probably not happy about that because they're stupid.
I have heard Eureka being called difficult and unnecessary content. But guess what? It's what people wanted. They wanted the game to be more like FFXI, and you got it now, bitches.
